1. The prehistoric peoples possibly could have made the Venus as a representation of a Goddess that they worshiped, or maybe as an commemoration to a great woman of their time.
2. They painted these deep in caves because that is where they dwelt. It was a safe place that would be easy to keep warm with fire, and easy to defend against other peoples and creatures.
3. Stonehenge was probably a place of worship, a holy place. With all of the work it would have taken to build it must of been for something higher than the living.
